The databaseadministrators job was to oversee any and all database-oriented tasks. Thisincluded database design and implementation, installation, upgrade, SQLanalysis and advice for application developer s.. The DBA was also responsiblefor back-up and recovery, which required many heterogeneous utility programs that runin a specified order. This was a time-consuming energy draining task.
